SSI ASST INSTRUCTOR

The SSI Assistant Instructor (AI) course is the first instructional-level certification in the SSI professional pathway. Designed for divers who want to teach scuba diving, this course trains you to assist SSI Instructors during academic sessions, confined water training, and open water courses. It builds strong foundations in teaching methodology, safety management, and student supervision, making it ideal for divers transitioning from leadership to instruction.

Course Prerequisites & Duration

Flexible Duration

2 to 3 weeks (Flexible schedule – modular & internship‑style training)

Munimum Age

The program requires individuals to be at least 18 years old

Minimum Certification

SSI Divemaster certification or equivalent is required

SSI React Right

SSI React Right (First Aid, CPR, Oxygen) certification is required

Logged Dives

Minimum required logged dives as per SSI standards before proceeding

Medical Clearance

Medical clearance is necessary for diving under specific circumstances
